Rene Magritte 1898-1967. Time Transfixed. I've read some definitions of what Magritte was thinking when he painted what he did. I'm not educated enough to understand what they're saying or what Magritte was painting. What I do understand is that I smile when I look at his works. That's good enough for me.
My friend... Rely not upon an education to attempt to understand what an artist might be saying. To me true art is a struggle to verbalize a thought that is not manifest... Like trying to catch the wind in your hands.. Ones creation is an attempt to share such a thought and to do so without telling the observer the purpose of the work.. When and if a person can share in the meaning is the greatest feeling an artist can have. Ya see, it means someone understands what you're trying to say without words and this is an extremely deep connection met by no other joy that a true artist can really have.. Not sure if this helps... Take pride in your interpretaions of the works my friend.. This journey is for us..
